The beginnings...

It was in the 1960s when the Gaiero family took possession of the historical-architectural complex known as 'Pieve di S. Maria della Valle del Rea'. An ancient structure, dating back to the 7th century A.D., located a few steps from the provincial road that connects Dogliani with Monchiero, in Piedmont, and 'nestled' in a natural basin created by the Rea stream, a tributary of the Tanaro.

Rural life…

Initially, the family devoted their energies to agricultural life, tilling the soil to grow vegetables. However, the influence of mum and dad makes itself felt: daughter Enrica realises that this world coincides exactly with the future she has always wanted.

The renovation...

In 1999, based on the recovery project designed by his father, work began on renovating the estate: the farmhouse was created in the rural wing of the settlement, designed in a rustic style that recalls its history and respects its origins.

It was 2005 when farmhouse la Pieve first opened its doors...

The project…

Enrica became the owner of the farm in 2016, which she runs together with her husband Alessandro. They increase the agricultural part of the farm and focus on natural cultivation, creating the La Pieve Farm. At the same time, Alessandro attends renowned cooking courses to turn his passion for cooking into a real profession.

The Farm…

They create two new hazelnut groves for the cultivation of IGP Piedmont Hazelnuts (now in organic conversion) and a new orchard. They enlarge the greenhouse dedicated to seasonal crops and replant a new vineyard where Dogliani DOCG, Nebbiolo, Nascetta and Viogner are grown. They also purchase a new vineyard in Clavesana, to produce Dolcetto, Nebbiolo and Chardonnay.

Present and Future…

Today La Pieve is a marvellous farmhouse with rooms and a restaurant and a renowned farm that produces genuni and natural products. It represents a welcoming refuge for those who want to relax in contact with nature, the perfect destination for those who want to visit the Langhe and Roero, and a point of reference for those seeking a relaxing stay, excellent food and wine, and harmony of the senses.
